We are hiring!

We are currently seeking friendly and professional part-time bar staff to join our dynamic team. We are located very close to the U of A campus, so this could be an ideal part-time position for an ambitious university student seeking evening shift employment while attending classes during the day.

In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, serving beverages, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Previous pub or restaurant experience, familiarity with POS systems, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and customer service are highly valued.

Responsibilities:
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Serve beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
• Handle cash transactions, process debit/credit payments, and give correct change for cash transations
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, lounge areas, and bar area throughout shifts
• Engage with guests to provide excellent customer service, addressing any special requests or concerns
• Manage multiple tables and bar top orders effectively through strong time management skills

Qualifications required:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• A valid ProServe* certification; this must be completed or renewed prior to start date

Additional desired qualifications:
• Previous experience in a pub, lounge, or a restaurant service environment, especially in serving or bartending roles, is valued, but not required
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy service periods efficiently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends as needed
• A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role
• The successful candidate(s) will also have two paid days in September to attend first aid and safety training as well as a staff meeting and orientation day

• Pay: $15.00 per hour plus tips

The Granite Curling Club, founded in 1920, has a long history in Edmonton. We are proud to offer a safe and fun curling experience for all.  We welcome all skill levels to come out and enjoy curling. The club hosts approximately 1,000 curlers each week in regular play on 8 sheets of ice.
